WIP 4: Pla-plating and knee puttying

At last I reached the pla-plating phase, hmmm, I guess at this point I'm 25-30% done. I only have 0.4 and 1.0 mm clear Tamiya pla plates with 2.0 mm square rods, also 1.0 mm clear rods. It;s quite far from what I have in mind, so I'll just do what I can for now.

"Char's Zaku Ball" WIP 1: Shoulder and Horn

Hey guys! Like what I said in my kit review section, I would be making a Char's Zaku II inspired ball, so here it is, my "in between builds" kit!

It's kinda cute thinking that it would look like a Zaku in the end, such a big turn of events don't you think? One of those forgotten grunts would have a good revamping.

Review HG RB-79 Ball Twin Set

So, here it is, my first kit review..and it is..the RB-79 Ball Twin Set! This is an in between builds kit, i gotta kick back and build a simple kit after the mods i was doing to my "Maelstrom" project, so this is it. You may think it's kinda weird that I'd get a ball, well, I like it coz of its simple design and its really cute! I initially got this kit because I am planning to make a "Char's Zaku ball and Zaku ball" dio. You guys better stay tuned to that after my current project (maybe I'd start it while painting the Tallgeese)

WIP 3: Thrusters, knees, shoulders, arms and others

Here it is!finished test fitting all major accessories and parts in my "Maelstrom" unit. As befitting for another whole revolution around the sun (yes, it is my birthday today) I was able to fit all the major parts, thus I can start pla-plating tonight (if I can squeeze some time) or tomorrow.

It has been shown in kit reviews such as the one rrobert184 is using in youtube. If anyone is interested, you guys can check out my wares section or better yet my sulit shop :). I really recommend this to all kit enthusiasts around. FYI, kit shown is Weibritter of Super Robot Wars :)

WIP 2: Waist, Legs and some shoulders

Hey guys! I'm just filling you in the parts I have done. Well, you could see that I've been kit bashing and technically trimming and adding parts I see fit. I wanted the Tallegeese to have the same features while adding touches of my own.

Gunpla biz and its perks!

Today, I had another set of transactions because if you check the wares page of my blog, I sell decals, kits and things I can get my hands on as an adjunct to fuel my hobby. As I do my usual meet ups with old and new clients. I realized how long its been since I've started my hobby, from me feeling that I'm the only one with this hobby, to seeing competitions, blogs and people who once were like me (not knowing such community exists). So I usually talk a lot with my clients and ask what they like, what series they collect, how they build, and some stuff.

Tools page!

I am happy to announce the opening of my Tools page (clap clap clap). Here I put the tools which I use in building my kits. People who have little idea on where to use these tools, some good and bad stuff about it, this is the place for you!

I will later update the area of what I am using and compare it with others. A lot of times in Manila, we settle for the first set of tools we see, however, because of our budding gunpla community, we should help the people who are exploring the hobby. The best way is being able to help them budget their money or recommending them tools which can give them the most bang for their buck. A lot of us have already tried a lot of tools and methods, so we should try guiding our fellow modelers!

Here's to us modelers!

Maelstrom WIP part 1: Chest, torso and arms

So here's what I have so far:

As I said earlier, I used the frame of an MG God Gundam.. I figured that the joint above the shoulder could be useful for attaching the shoulder armor of the Tallgeese..At the same time, the screws on the joints makes the kit have the ability to withstand my mistakes in modding if ever..hehehe..as well as heavy weapons..

My escape from the real world..

So, this is my little workshop. Well, its for from a workshop but it works for me :) It's a makeshift "modeling table" from a computer table. It houses my airbrush, files, cutters, sanding materials and all my tools.

For the love of gunpla..

It has been 13 years since I've been introduced to Gundam, the first one being the Wing Gundam which was the first series aired in the Philippines. I learned of the model kits because of my classmate who was playing with a fighter plane with a head popping out of it (the V Gundam core fighter) this intrigued me and later he showed me the whole kit when it was assembled. I got hooked on it the first time I saw it.

MG "Viper" ball project

So here's my weathering and battle damaged practice kit, An MG 1/100 Pod Ball ver. Ka. I really like its simple yet effective design wherein you can really do a lot to make it nice or if you aren't adventurous enough, the Out Of the Box (OOB) finish would look good as is.

"Crash of the Titans" diorama

Here's a project that I've been working on for the past weeks. I call it the "Crash of the Titans" because it comprises of an MG Rx-178 mk II Titans and an MG Alex. I customized the Alex so that it would look like a Full Armored RX-78-2, I kinda wanted it to have the same feel, a heavy firepowered "tank-ish" look that's a cross between the FA RX-78-2 and the Red Warrior (Char's RX-78-2 that was shown in plamo kyoshiro).

The best Gundam Hobby Shop!

Since I've been collecting Gundam for about 8 years now, I've been searching for a "One-stop shop" where I can get all the things I need for this Hobby. I've been looking around in Manila and also been buying from contacts here because, as all of us in the hobby would admit, kits are pricey. A number of people I know also need materials or tools that are not readily available here or if it is, again, it won't come in cheap. I've been reading a couple of blogs recently and noted that there's this one place in Singapore where everything about Gundam can be found, this is Hobby Art Gallery. I've been to Japan before, no doubt they've got a great selection there, but the airfare won't come cheap too. So I really recommend modelers with contacts or relatives in Singapore to get kits there.

MG Tallegeese Custom Project, codename: "Maelstrom"

So my first WIP to be published here is an MG Tallgeese "Maelstrom". One of the units I've been wanting since I've learned that the Gundam Wing series is going to be produced in the Master Grade line was the Tallgeese III, however, it looks like it's not going to happen, so, might as well adapt an MG inner frame to an HG 1/100 Tallgeese III that I own.
