MG RX-78-2 10th year anniversay

Hello again guys! I've been having more free time lately, that means.. More time for Gunpla!!! So here's one of my backlogged projects.. I got this baby last month.. I got interested because of its collector's value.. I kinda knew that this kit lacked the articulation and poseability of an MG kit of that year since this was released 2005 and the base kit is a 1.5 version.. Oh well.. But i got it anyway.. Hehe..

So without further ado.. Here it is!

Day 1 of bkwc 2011

Hey there friends! Today is the first day of the Philippine BKWC2011! And im very happy to see familiar faces. I am very proud of the contestants this uear since all the kits are "level ups" of the previous year! Good job pinoy modelers! I will be taking pics tomorrow! Good luck to all who entered! Classic vs Remake?

In my attempt to further educate myself with the mecha ways..also to give me new ideas/concepts in my future builds..I've been guided by my professor..dragondoc!
The first steps of my journey was to expose myself to those long time running mechas..other than gundam..there are tons more..so the first thing my professor sent me was a link to his blog which was http://dragondoc.wordpress.com/ and specifically the Super Robot: Classic vs Remake..Here..he started with the Mazinger series..it's always nice to immerse ourselves in what may have been the biggest inspirations to what the mecha community in the Philippines and even the world..sit back and relax!

Due to inspiration from my professor, dr. Tan-Gatue..i went back in time and appreciated the mecha and sentai history..starting today..i will be reviewing and posting retro mechs, current mechs and some live actions..however..gunpla will still be my main dish..

WIP 1: modifications and kit bashing for Light Armor RX-78-2 Gundam the origin

hey guys!so here's the last of the 3 suits..technically the 2nd suit which is the ball..was already finished..i just have to brush up on it..this last one was to display my modding skills..i used my GFF 1/100 metal composite RX-78-2 as a basis and ground work for a ver. OYW conversion and modification..i like Char's Red Warrior..the high speed, light armored RX-78-2..so this was what i did..or to that note..hehehe..its more of a close combat and high maneuverability with a "scatter" bazooka mounted on the left shoulder..the trademark of Gundam the origin..hope you like this baby!enjoy!

hey there guys..i've been really busy with my entry that i wasn't able to post and notify about my entry..my MG Alex sadly got destroyed..the plastic was old and brittle so I had to think and use a different kit..so..i went with what was natural for me..an MG RX-78!hehehe..so the plan goes..2 MG rx-78-2s; one ver. ka (real type) and one ver. OYW (modified to look like a Light Armor Gundam the origin).. and the last part is my MG Ball..i love this little dude..

MG Heavyarms!

Hey guys..just saw this pic from a blog..you may not know it..but this kit..suit was the first Gundam i bought way back 1995..this started my gunpla addiction..hehehe..they say this will come out december this year..but..maybe it would take a bit longer for us here in the Philippines..maybe January?hmm..im just sure that id get this kit..for sentimental value and because i really like the design..after this..id get an MG Tallgeese :) hehehe..

So here's an update of another super delayed build for a client..a Forbidden Blue Gundam from the Seed MSV..there are some modifications here like the torpedo launcher, rounding and extending of shields..changing of v-fin into a mono-fin, scythe to a trident and most of all..the color (not yet painted)

NG 1/100 Justice Gundam leg extension..

 Hey guys..this is a long overdue project for a client who asked me to extend the leg of his NG 1/100 Justice Gundam..so i extended it by around 1.5cm with a 3mm rod between the two sections..the hard part was to come next..the filling and filing..

Kit Review : HG 1/144 MS-06 "Zaku II"

Hey guys here's another kit review..so..I've always been making a big fuss about the RX-78-02..but..what's a Gundam without a Zaku?as we all know..there have always been grunts in the Gundam series..and Zakus have played the biggest parts having titular enemies as "souped-up" Zaku's such as Char's Zaku, Johnny Ridden's Zaku and so on..

Kit Review : HG 1/144 Stark Jegan

It's been so long since I've reviewed a kit..so after my long hiatus..I'll start with something simple..however..i don't have a good camera and lighting..so please bear with me :)

So here it is guys..the HG 1/144 Stark Jegan from the Gundam Unicorn series!

Some info on the suit:

The RGM-89S Stark Jegan is a prototype mobile suit built as a mid-range fire support unit. The overall performance is greatly increased over the standard RGM 89 Jegan.The Stark Jegan's legs are fitted with additional armor, and new armaments are incorporated across the body, including a pair of machine guns and two sets of missile launchers. The large missile launcher is capable of mounting a nuclear warhead. The Stark Jegan can also carry a bazooka or beam rifle. The Stark Jegan is slower with the additional armor and armaments, but if necessary, they can be ejected.

Another update on the "Crash of the Titans"

Hey there hommes! I just want to show you guys the repositioning of the Gundams in my dio..I think this gives a more dramatic fight..and at the same time..the titans still get owned..will have to extend the base a bit because it doesn't quite fit the two suits in a standing position..I've also been studying how to do dioramas, thanks to DC23 and the MAC forums..I really learned a lot..this is just a small update..and if you noticed..I added extra knee armor with pla plate and koto parts from Amir!thanks guys!Anyway..back to med school!

What a day!

Hey bros! I just can’t contain my happiness for the day! First of, my Hermit Crab “Lovechild” is molting..and the BIG catch is that I got 2 MGs of my favourite Gundam! MG RX-78-2 ver. 2 Bandai Pro Shop clear version (UNBUILT) and also the MG RX-78-2 ver. 2 Smoke Mechanical Clear Version (built masterfully)!!! Great buy from Christian a.k.a “Executor 323”.. I got the smoke version built..I was thinking of joint looseness and all..but it was just perfect!even with great decals!I told Christian I’d take care of the kits I bought from him cause i saw that he really loved them and that he also had an RX-78 collection..MORE THAN I HAVE!!!but, he’s slowly letting them go and I’m there to get them..hehehe..he even threw in gundam decals for the ver. OYW..what a haul!!!

My pet..

 You guessed it..I have a pet named "lovechild" it was given to me by my girlfriend for our monthsary 2 months ago because I oftentimes eat alone in my unit after coming home from school..and as I went home today..I noticed my hermit crab wasn't moving..

Crash of the Titans update..

So..I’ve decided that the MG Blue Frame is a really great kit..however..given my current aptitude and lack of time (as I am currently a med student) I made a big decision to indefinitely stop my custom Blue Frame and move back to my “Crash of the Titans”

GFF Fever!

Hey guys! It’s been quite a long time since I’ve blogged here..Med school is eating me up..but that doesn’t mean I can’t spend time with my toys..hehehe..it’s quite detoxifying if you ask me..I kinda lack time so now I’m kinda having thoughts if I am still going to use my customized mg blue frame (which is far from finished) or my originally intended BAKUC kit which is the MG Alex with the MG titans rx-178..I guess I’m going with the Alex coz I think I could tweak it more, given that it is a “boxy” old kit..as Amir told me one time..It’s hard to make a great kit greater..and the form of the Astray leaves only a bit of modification..oh well..that’s another story..Onto the main course..Gundam Fix Figurations!!!

I'm losing my [gunpla] mojo..

i really don't know what's happening to me now..i guess it's the "benign-ness" of my Integrated Clinical Clerk (ICC) year in med school..I have free-time however, I can't seem to put in my GunPla projects..maybe because I missed the Gunpla competition (again!) because of my exmas..or I'm just really having my quarter life crisis (yep..now that I have free time, I can think of such things)

Well, at least there are still some people and things that make me happy..my super loving girlfriend, my fraternity, family and Gunpla!

well..i guess i have a lot of time for my next year's entry..hmmmm..and a lot more time to blog..however, I can't really start anything new because I'm scared I won't be able to finish it in case time does not permit..

I'm just really happy that I have a great support system backing me up..owell..life goes on..

Hey guys..despite the weather and toxicities of med school..I was still able to push my luck with priming my kit..I really don't have a name for it yet..but, i guess it will come..so here's what I have for now..enjoy!

6 days til BAKUC!

 It's been almost one month since my last post because of so much Med stuff that I have to study and finish..Now it's almost BAKUC and I havent really had time to complete my entry.. T_T..I hope I can make it in time..

Thoughts for my BAKUC entry..

It's the start of another academic year. As a modeler for the past years, I've been eyeing to be at least in the top ten in this year's BAKUC, however, being a third year medical student, I really don't know my chances of even finishing my kit. But, I've already started on my kit and I guess it will be a surprise 'til the glorious BAKUC day! Hehehe..

hmmm..summer is about to be over but I've still not done all the kits I would have wanted to finish for the break..sana humaba pa ang summer!also, I want to go back to Singapore to get me more koto option parts..and also tools. I love tools! I can keep on hoarding and hoarding them..well, that's just it..I'll be working on my leg extensions as soon as I get home..I'll try to post the pictures here, maybe also make a tutorials part about it (I hope)..also, I hope my plan of opening a shop would push through..it's in the works..hope that it really will run..so that their would be an all Gundam store in Manila..haaaaay..

new projects to watch out for!!!

hey there guys!it's been a long time since I've posted again. First off, I'm so happy that in a few more views, I'd reach the 1000 view mark, and its only been less than 2 weeks! Hurrah for our Philippine mech community, go MAC! Next is I have a forbidden blue project and leg extending work so I hope to have a tutorial and a WIP for it.

WIP 4: Pla-plating and knee puttying

At last I reached the pla-plating phase, hmmm, I guess at this point I'm 25-30% done. I only have 0.4 and 1.0 mm clear Tamiya pla plates with 2.0 mm square rods, also 1.0 mm clear rods. It;s quite far from what I have in mind, so I'll just do what I can for now.

"Char's Zaku Ball" WIP 1: Shoulder and Horn

Hey guys! Like what I said in my kit review section, I would be making a Char's Zaku II inspired ball, so here it is, my "in between builds" kit!

It's kinda cute thinking that it would look like a Zaku in the end, such a big turn of events don't you think? One of those forgotten grunts would have a good revamping.

Review HG RB-79 Ball Twin Set

So, here it is, my first kit review..and it is..the RB-79 Ball Twin Set! This is an in between builds kit, i gotta kick back and build a simple kit after the mods i was doing to my "Maelstrom" project, so this is it. You may think it's kinda weird that I'd get a ball, well, I like it coz of its simple design and its really cute! I initially got this kit because I am planning to make a "Char's Zaku ball and Zaku ball" dio. You guys better stay tuned to that after my current project (maybe I'd start it while painting the Tallgeese)

WIP 3: Thrusters, knees, shoulders, arms and others

Here it is!finished test fitting all major accessories and parts in my "Maelstrom" unit. As befitting for another whole revolution around the sun (yes, it is my birthday today) I was able to fit all the major parts, thus I can start pla-plating tonight (if I can squeeze some time) or tomorrow.

Trumpeter Turn Table Display stand
